Commissioned by the choir of St Catharine’s College Cambridge with the help of funds generously donated by John and Dale Reed, The first performance was in the Chapel of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, as part of Evensong, on March 2nd, 2006, directed by Edward Wickham, with Matthew Cook, organ.

Commissioned by the choir of St Catharine’s College Cambridge with the help of funds generously donated by John and Dale Reed, The first performance was in the Chapel of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, as part of Evensong, on March 2nd, 2006, directed by Edward Wickham, with Matthew Cook, organ. The second performance, also in the chapel, was on March 3rd as part of the Kellaway Chamber Music Series.

The settings are inspired by ancient Celtic Quern songs – songs for grinding corn.
